In June 2018, the Cloud Credential Council (CCC) was listed as one of the most valuable cloud computing certifications today by CIO.com.

This is a fantastic endorsement of the CCC portfolio, the quality of our courses and the strength of CCC certifications in the marketplace. A core value of the CCC is to enable digital-ready professionals and organisations. The CCC is supporting this through our portfolio covering Cloud, Big Data and IoT.

In the latest 2018 State of the Cloud Report™ by RightScale, it is clear that cloud is now widely adopted with its usage increasing year-on-year. However, current cloud challenges reported by organisations include;

  • Security
  • Managing cloud spend
  • Lack of resources/expertise
  • Governance/control
  • Managing multiple clouds
  • Performance
  • Building private cloud

These are significant areas challenging organisation today in their cloud and digital journeys.

At the CCC we are conducting going research in a number of areas and currently we are also seeing a similar trend. We are seeing so many organisations using cloud these days, which is a good and productive development. However, we are also finding that many organisations and their people do not know what cloud really is. They are struggling to put cloud into any real context outside of the technology that underpins cloud. So many people still cannot provide a unified description or definition of what cloud is. Worse still, they cannot put cloud into context in relation to areas such as;

  • Cloud characteristics
  • Cloud service models
  • Cloud deployment models
  • Service levels
  • Changing roles
  • Governance
  • Strategy
  • Security

And that is just a starting point!

The Value of CCC Certifications

The CCC has developed a portfolio of training and certification programmes aimed at addressing the issues stated above. The portfolio is vendor-neutral and provides the context and understanding around core domains including cloud, big data and IoT.
