The Cloud Credential Council (CCC) announces the release of a new Big Data Foundation Certification alongside its cloud computing portfolio. The CCC Big Data Foundation curriculum is designed to provide participants with an understanding of Big Data, the potential Big Data applications that can be used to solve real business problems and also provide an overview of Data Mining Tools used in it. Participants get hands-on experience in using two of the most popular technologies in Big Data processing—Hadoop and MongoDB.

Marcel Heilijgers, Executive Director of the Cloud Credential Council, says: “We are very excited to offer training providers a growing interrelated certification portfolio. As we move forward we see a closer integration amongst the domains of Cloud Computing, Mobile, Big Data and The Internet of Things. In 2014 the CCC expanded the cloud portfolio through the release of five professional-level cloud computing certifications which are rapidly gaining traction across the globe. This year, the release of the ‘CCC Big Data Foundation’ certification will be the first milestone of a certification path in the Big Data domain that the CCC will be launching. The adoption of Big Data has accelerated as organizations realize the tremendous impact data insights can provide in the design of strategies to increase margins.”

According to McKinsey Global Institute 2011 white paper, by 2018, the United States alone face a shortage of 140,000 to 190,000 people with deep analytical skills as well as 1.5 million managers and analysts with the know-how to use the analysis of big data to make effective decisions. Training providers are expected to increase their portfolio massively to close the skills gap in this domain.

The Cloud Credential Council has worked with a number of leading organizations to develop and launch a version of CCC accredited courseware material to make it easier for training companies to quickly adopt these training programs. Training organizations across the globe interested in adding the CCC portfolio to their offering are encouraged to sign up on www.cloudcredential.org and/or contact info@www.cloudcredential.org for more information.
