Transcript: ‘Impact of cloud, what is all the hype?’

“The cloud model is really pervading the IT profession and it really changes the way we handle IT from both a technical perspective as well as from a management perspective. In order to be part of that dialogue an IT professional really should have a good understanding of those core cloud concepts, and if you don’t have those understanding they won’t be part of the game. CTA will really give you a chance to secure a new role in that.”

“Today’s world is filled with innumerable mobile devices and the ever growing volume of data. The need to extract meaningful information from this vast volume of data will definitely be the future of cloud computing.”

“The number one thing is being able to distinguish real cloud solutions from vendor hyped, cloud washing stuff – there’s so much of that around. The second thing is that you will get a core understanding of the cloud risks that are relevant both technical risks and management risks. And the third one is to understand how cloud technology leads to value. And each of these three really can save your job in a single day – or to turn it around if you fail to apply these three skills you may be out of a job soon.”

“If you’re out of cloud, you’re out of work. Really.”
